Mr Keen

A very promising beginning. I went on a course and he was smiling across the room at me all day. I didn’t take a lot of notice. Married men do that all the time. And I was busy chatting to everyone that I hadn’t seen for a long time. But at the end of the day he flipped a note onto my desk.

‘You’re gorgeous. Would you like to meet for a drink?’

What woman could resist that? I grinned all the way home. Especially after he had confirmed that he wasn’t married - well separated. And he was keen - he phoned me as soon as I got home. The trouble was he kept on phoning. And when he wasn’t calling he was texting. I would have loved that if we were actually in a relationship. At best it was like being back at school- he actually asked me if I fancied him – before we’d been on a date. At worst it was all a bit creepy.

And when I did see him all he wanted to do was talk about himself or grope me. He said it was Yorkshire enthusiasm. I think I’ll stick to the puddings.
